BACK FROM BEIJING
a cura di federicapaola capecchi
OPENING 27 APRILE 2022 ore 19

After the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games, the Sport Photography Museum will make an exhibition, selecting the best images.

Twenty accredited photographers selected by Federicapaola Capecchi and Alessandro Trovati, including Italians and foreigners, such as Alain Grosclaude (Zoom Agence Fr), Simon Bruty, Michel Cottin (Zoom Agence Fr), Alexi Boichard (Zoom Agence Fr), Marco Alpozzi (LaPresse), Alessandro Trovati (AP & Pentaphoto), Luca Bruno (AP), Giovanni Auletta (Pentaphoto), Gian Mattia D'Alberto (LaPresse), Marco Trovati (Pentaphoto), Alessandra Tarantino (AP). On exhibition more than forty photographs.

An exhibition that continues the fil rouge traced with the exhibition "Olympics" [May 2018, Spazio Tadini Casa Museo] with the presence of more authors and that anticipates two other projects branded SPM: "Road to Cortina" and "Milan Cortina 2026".

The exhibition project is not authorial/ artistic but more "historical document", where you do not witness something that already belongs to history or the past, but something that will become part of history and not only of the sports. Because the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing have been defined on several occasions as "the Olympics of courage": while the World was vulnerable and in suffering (the Pandemic) and while humanity was helpless and incredulous at the beginning of a new emergency, a bloody and dangerous war. The Olympics have seen therefore - between races, victories and goals - the sense of vulnerability, of defeat, of limit. These three aspects - and moods - in fact come overbearing in many photographs that SPM has seen in the selection phase. What has made, however, the athletes much closer, revealing, more than on other occasions, their role as men and women citizens of the World and not only of a nation of which they were represented.

The photographs on display - from April 30 to May 15, 2022 - can be voted on on Sport Photography Museum’s Instagram channel. The vote is not the simple like but a comment. Not emoticons but words. The photographer / the photographers who reach the highest number of votes/ comments (the top 3 classified) will enter by right in the "Hall of fame" of SPM and there they will be exposed permanently with the photo voted.
"Hall of fame" is one of the permanent collections of the Sport Photography Museum and collects the most iconic shots of historical photographers and photographs that have made the history of sport ... o che la faranno, come in questo caso, con l'ingresso di fotografi in attività e contemporanei.
