The Creativity Workshop is an international, interdisciplinary professional-development program designed to help participants develop creativity, innovative thinking, and practical tools for generating new ideas. Founded in 1993 by Shelley Berc and Alejandro Fogel, the Workshop welcomes university faculty, K–12 educators, writers, artists, business professionals, researchers, and anyone who wants to strengthen creativity in their personal or professional life.
The program is experiential rather than lecture-based. Participants work through hands-on exercises in creative writing, memoir, drawing, photography, storytelling, mapmaking, observation, mindfulness, and guided visualization. The work helps people overcome creative blocks, reduce self-criticism, expand imagination, improve observation, generate new ideas, and establish an ongoing creative practice.
No previous artistic experience is necessary. The techniques are practical and relevant across disciplines and professions. The workshop is taught live by its founders in a small group. Classes meet daily from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Hotel Executive Florence, Via Curtatone 5, 50123 Firenze. Tuition is US$1,595.
